At San Siro, the Milanese did not intend to defend the advance at all. Already the first opportunity brought them a goal and a very impressive one. After an assist from Lautaro Martinez, Barella hit the bar brilliantly. Martinez headed the ball into Benfica’s goal in the 33rd minute. Referee Carlos del Cerro, however, did not score the goal, because the Argentine first pushed his rival away.

The visitors responded at the end of the first half. After a precise cross by Rafa Silva, Fredrik Aursnes successfully headed from seven meters.

Lisbon’s hopes were finally dashed in the 65th minute. After the action, Federico Dimarco hit Martinez from five meters. Another blow was delivered by substitute Joaquin Correa. The Argentine easily dodged Nicolas Otamendi and then fired a technical shot that bounced off the post and into the net. In the end, Inter lacked concentration, which Benfica took advantage of. First, 19-year-old stopper Antonio Silva headed the right post, and in the last minute of added time Petar Musa scored.
