What is the fate of the movie “Ramses Paris”, starring Haifa Wehbe, following a court ruling banning it was issued, in conjunction with the publication of promo and posters confirming the release of the film on the first days of Eid Al-Fitr.

Legal advisor Yasser Kantoush, in a special statement to “Masrawy”, said: “The censorship of works, the Ministry of Culture and the Chamber of the Film Industry have already been notified of the ruling issued by the Economic Court in favor of my clients, the international French artist Bibi Nasseri, in Case No. 18 of 2023 dated 2023/ 18/4, to stop showing the movie (Ramses Paris) until his picture is removed from all scenes of the movie.

And he continued: “The ruling is obligatory in a matter of urgent temporary implementation, and the appeal in it does not stop its implementation. The ruling is issued preventing the issuance of a permit for the film from all concerned authorities, and in the event that the film is released on Eid, we will sue any party that issued a permit not to implement a ruling.”

A source in the Chamber of Film Industry, in a statement to “Masrawy”, said: “We have not yet received an official notification of the ruling, and explained here that in the event of an enforceable judicial ruling, and the arrival of its official form, the decision to prevent its release becomes settled, and in this case the censorship of works is Technical, is the body entrusted with implementation.

The French-Algerian artist, Bibi Nasseri, posted a video clip on YouTube, in which he accused the filmmakers, director Ahmed Khaled Moussa, and producer Raymond Ramses of deceiving him. After a promotional video was released for the movie, in which an actor similar to him appeared, performing scenes that he was scheduled to present.
