After Up there,Vice versa et Soula fourth film by Pixar will have the honors of the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival.
Expected in theaters on June 16 in the United States, then on June 21 in France, Elementary will have its world premiere in Cannes on May 27, the last day of the Festival.
“For many years, the Cannes Film Festival has hosted animation films, with works from all over the world. Pixar studios, with up there, made Cannes history by opening the 62nd edition of the Festival in 2009. It was a great memory! It is once once more a fine event to present the formidable Elementary for the ‘last Session’ of this 76th Cannes Film Festival and to question our lives in such a strong and light way”declared Thierry Frémaux, the general delegate of the Festival.
Elementary, the 27th production of Pixar Studios, takes place in Element City. This is where Flam lives, a young woman “intrepid and quick-witted, with a strong character”, and Flack, a boy “sentimental and amusing, more of a follower at heart”.
Their friendship upsets Flam, who begins to question the world in which they live.
Pixar Creative Director Pete Docter Promises a Movie “funny, full of life and, quite honestly, stunning to watch”.
For the French version, Disney chose Adèle Exarchopoulos and Vincent Lacoste to dub the characters of Flam and Flack.
