Rwanda and Guinea signed, on Tuesday, March 18, 2023, a historic agreement for the creation of a large joint cooperation commission. The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and promote closer cooperation in several key areas, including trade, investment, security and culture.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of representatives of the Rwandan and Guinean governments, as well as members of the business community and diplomats. The two sides expressed their commitment to work together to strengthen cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

The agreement provides for the creation of a joint cooperation commission which will be responsible for developing cooperation programs and projects in the priority areas. This commission will also work to facilitate trade and investment between the two countries, to promote cooperation in the field of security, in particular the fight once morest transnational crime, and to strengthen cultural cooperation.

Rwanda and Guinea have already established strong ties in several areas, including agriculture, education and health. The cooperation agreement will strengthen these relations and create new opportunities for businesses and people in both countries.

In March 2016, Paul Kagame spent 24 hours in Conakry. During this stay, Guinea and Rwanda had signed seven cooperation agreements.
