Moscow announced yesterday that Russian President Vladimir Putin made a quick visit to the front lines in Kherson and Lugansk, noting that the visit came to confirm Russia’s control over the areas it annexed to its territory. The move angered Kiev, which described the visit as aiming to see Russian “crimes”. And the advisor to the Ukrainian presidency, Mykhailo Podolyak, said that Putin’s visit is a “special tour for the godfathers of mass killings.”
On the other hand, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held a lengthy session of talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Changfu, following which he said that cooperation and coordination between Russia and China have an impact on the stability of the situation in the world. Shoigu expressed his conviction that “the results of the meeting with his Chinese counterpart will strengthen the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership in the field of defense, and enable discussion of topical issues related to global and regional security.”
