This is a situation that some have been experiencing for a few days: power outages that are becoming recurrent in Saint-Pierre. This Tuesday, April 18, some residents of the Anse à Pierre district, the cathedral as well as that of ASIA were concerned in the early morning.
An interruption which occurs two days following that which would have already taken place on Sunday April 16 according to several people.
Other cuts occurred this followingnoon, this time in Miquelon. There it was announced by the electricity supplier. It is the “Ilharreguy” substation which will be deprived of electricity for “technical reasons“explains EDF in a press release.
“The energy supply will be interrupted from 1.30 p.m. Its reinstatement will be carried out at the end of the work without further notice. further underlines the service.
This is the third cut in a week. For comparison, there were four cuts in total in 2022. They would be linked to a technology problem with the motors of the power plant.
Contacted, the EDF services ensure that of the six engines, the two affected by this technical problem will not cause any more electricity interruptions in the future. However, in order to prevent this type of event from happening once more, the supplier informs that discussions are underway to find a solution.
