The air transport company Madagascar Airlines has officially become a national company in its own right, following its obtaining of the air transport certificate and the operating license from the Malagasy civil aviation, we learned on Tuesday from a press release issued by the company.
The five mandatory phases in terms of regulation, safety and security have been completed following one year, the statement said, adding that Madagascar Airlines has fulfilled all the conditions required to be able to operate and operate freely all national air routes, an asset for the revival of Malagasy tourism.
The company will now operate regular services to the country’s eight national airports. In addition to the regional and European lines it serves, the new brand of the former Air Madagascar company plans to regain destinations in Asian countries and ten other international destinations in the coming years, according to the same source.
Madagascar Airlines was set up in December 2021 to save the national carrier Air Madagascar, which filed for bankruptcy in October of the same year following financial problems that exposed it to a debt of up to 80 million dollars. Since then, it has managed the assets of Air Madagascar and its subsidiary Tsaradia, operating in national flight, before becoming a national company.
