GERB and “Continuing the Change – Democratic Program” have reached an agreement on a draft legislative program containing 30 bills. This is understood from a document distributed to the media, which indicates the priorities of the two coalitions for the first working session of the 49th National Assembly.

The announcement comes just a few hours following the joint briefing of representatives of the working groups of GERB and “Continuing the change – Democratic Bulgaria”, at which it was understood that an agreement had been reached on who would be the speaker of the parliament. Read more here.

The main priorities are related to the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability, the admission of Bulgaria to Schengen and the Eurozone. It is understood from the list of bills that anti-money laundering laws and the Insurance Code have been agreed. The topic of accountability and the search for responsibility by the Prosecutor General, as well as the division of the Anti-Corruption Commission into two, are other priority pieces of legislation.

A change to the Constitution is also planned, but it is not specified what exactly.

“Dnevnik” publishes the envisaged legislative program of GERB and “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” for the first working session of the parliament:

I. Bills related to the implementation of the reforms provided for in the NATIONAL PLAN FOR RECOVERY AND SUSTAINABILITY:

– Strengthening the bankruptcy procedure;
– The creation of a new company that would give greater flexibility to business in Bulgaria.

– Strengthening the role of the Inspectorate at the High Judicial Council for the prevention and counteraction of corruption in the judiciary.
