The head of state attested to the red-black government’s “demanding program”. The 64-year-old emperor had brought a large group of companions with him to what may be his last swearing-in ceremony. Together with Deputy Governor Gaby Schaunig (SPÖ), Kaiser Van der Bellen also presented a gift, a special Carinthian cake, the Reindling.
Last week, Kaiser and the other six members of the Carinthian state government were elected in the state parliament with 22 out of 36 votes. The SPÖ and ÖVP had previously agreed quite quickly on continuing the coalition.
