Advantech has released the AIMB-288E industrial motherboard equipped with a 12th Gen Intel Core desktop processor and NVIDIA Quadro T1000 GPU.
The ultra-slim design AIMB-288E provides visually outstanding computing performance and excellent graphics performance in the field of edge intelligence. Another feature is that it supports three independent displays that support up to 4K resolution, providing accurate visualization during various inspection tasks.
AIMB-288E goes through Advantech’s rigorous design process and heating technology, and complies with IEC-60068-2 regulations to ensure stability during long-term operation. Advantech said the AIMB-288E will ease artificial intelligence (AI) development and deployment in applications that require a compact and slim form factor.
Advantech AIMB-288E uses a 12th generation Intel Core desktop processor and NVIDIA Quadro T1000 GPU with 896 CUDA cores and 4GB GDDR6 to deliver single-precision performance of 2.5Tflops. It also uses 3D Mark Time SPY to deliver 5.2x better graphics performance than native GPU graphics solutions. Through this, it is expected to provide high-quality medical images and improve the quality of medical services by meeting customers’ demand for graphic processing.
Moreover, AIMB-288E’s GPU improves image processing results and features CPU freeing to focus on data processing. This allows the i3-12100E CPU with Quad Cores and 4.3 GHz Turbo to provide ample power for most applications. Additionally, single-threaded evaluation and DDR5 4800 memory improved performance by 1.36x compared to 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processors. This allows the AIMB-288E to consolidate workloads using ISA between the CPU and GPU.
The AIMB-288E integrates the CPU, GPU, memory, NVMe SSD and cooling system into a 42mm form factor, saving 66% more space compared to typical motherboards and simplifying integration. Advantech announced that the AIMB-288E can provide 100% performance in a 55°C (131°F) environment in a 1U system when using an ultra-slim cooling system. This design makes it possible to provide AI inference immediately, reducing developer workload, associated costs, and total time-to-market.
To enable AI and machine learning, Advantech AIMB-288E supports Windows and Linux Ubuntu OS to enhance various AI development. Additionally, using M.2 B key extension for 4G wireless connectivity and WISE-DeviceOn, the solution supports remote management capabilities including device monitoring, real-time control, troubleshooting and OTA software/firmware upgrades. This combination of hardware and software makes it an excellent product that delivers outstanding performance for AI machine learning and edge intelligence applications.
AIMB-288E can be used in machine vision, automation, medical equipment, and public service fields. In fact, a US mobile medical equipment company integrated the AIMB-288E into its product following experiencing improvements in ultrasound diagnostic accuracy and overall service quality by using the AIMB-288E. Advantech predicted that such diversified products might be used in the future.
