Pigeon expert Hans Lutsch warns of major consequences if the birds are handled incorrectly. For many communities, a dovecote would be an easy solution to the bird problem. In politics, too, there is not only disagreement, some parties did not find time to answer the expert’s questions.
You don’t have to look far to find pigeons in most cities. So the birds are also part of the picture in numerous Pongau communities. However, this creates some problems. “It’s not just the pollution of the pigeon hotspots,” says Hans Lutsch from the Arge Stadttauben. “There is also a violation of the animal welfare requirements, for example, if nets are hung up in an amateurish way and pigeons get caught there and die as a result. Actually, such an approach should be reported immediately.”
