dr Rainer Müller-Finkeldei (53) will take over responsibility for Product Engineering at Mercedes-Benz Trucks in May. In this function he is responsible for the development areas in Germany, Brazil and Turkey. Müller-Finkeldei succeeds Prof. Dr. Uwe Baake (59), who is retiring as planned.
dr Rainer Müller-Finkeldei joined the Daimler Group in 1995 to write his dissertation in computer science and physics at the University of Würzburg following completing his master’s degree at the University of Würzburg and the University of Texas in Austin, USA. He began his professional career as a development engineer in research and development at what was then Daimler-Benz AG. After various positions in research and development in the passenger car and van sector, he switched to the truck department in 2004 and initially became Executive Assistant to the Vice President Truck Product Creation. This was followed by other leading positions in product development within the group. In 2010 he became Director Mercedes-Benz Trucks Mechatronics before being appointed Senior Vice President Product Engineering and Technology at Daimler Truck North America in April 2020. (awm)
