“I mightn’t run since the middle of the match. I don’t know what it is, but I got cramps in both legs and mightn’t take a step. But it doesn’t matter at all when we won,” he didn’t let the championship celebrations that Tatran experienced following eight years spoil.
In the past, Beneš went through big problems with his knee, which troubled him even during the playoffs, but this time it was just a muscle problem. “I’m probably old,” smiled the twenty-five-year-old pusher.

He remained lying behind the bar for a long time, but he saw the title shot. “I was just in the care of the shooter’s father, so I symbolically celebrated with him,” he reported. Matěj Havlas Vojtěch’s father is an orthopedist and has taken care of Beneš’s knee in the past.
The most productive player from Střešovice completed a great season, already in November he was awarded for his contribution to the silver by being included in the All Stars Team of the World Championship in Switzerland. However, he cannot afford long celebrations of a successful year, as he will soon be studying law at the Faculty of Law.
“Since we won, I’ll postpone learning for regarding two or three days, then I’ll get back to it,” he planned. And he intends to return to the Střešovice team, even though some players are also involved in elite foreign competitions. “It looks like I’m staying and I hope we can stay together. Perhaps everyone is under contract, so a larger number of players should not leave,” believes Beneš.
Another attraction next season is the new format of the elite club competition, where Tatran qualified. The Champions Cup will now be played by two teams from four elite leagues. “That’s why I’m very happy that we won and will play the Champions Cup,” Beneš is happy.
