With consecutive fiscal periods ending in losses, Studio KAI is legally “insolvent”, as revealed in the article published in the Official Gazette on April 17. Let us remember that it is a recently created studio, founded in June 2019, as a division of ADK Emotions and inheriting various productions, intellectual properties and copyrights from the studios GONZO. In fact, the company had already had losses of 165 million yen in the 2020 fiscal period, that is, it has been losing for three consecutive years.
In recent years, Studio KAI has produced a variety of anime projects, most notably Fuuto Tantei, Shine Post, Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama: U-17 World Cup, Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu, Super Cub, Uma Musume: Pretty Derby 2nd Season, among others. He is currently producing the projects Uma Musume: Pretty Derby 3rd Season y Captain Tsubasa: Junior Youth-hen.
