Today we meet for an article in which I answer a question that you ask me very often: what to wear under white, light or transparent clothes ?
I wear a lot of light-colored clothes, including white lace blousesSometimes openwork and a little transparent, I therefore have several little tips for feeling perfectly comfortable in this type of clothing!
The bodysuit
I rediscovered bodysuits several years ago and it has become one of my basics: I find it so comfortable to wear, no more drafts in the lower back! The model that I wear a lot at the moment is this beige Skims model (very comfortable and exists in several colors for all skin tones.). It runs slightly small (I wear XS but I think the S would have been even more comfortable, in Clay color). I love it so much that I ordered several copies! This Chantelle Soft Stretch model is also very good, I have had mine for a few years!
The top / camisole
The nude tank top/camisole is my great darling to wear under light tops, in lace, openwork and/or slightly transparent. I have this very beautiful silk camisole, very comfortable to wear from the Yvo & Moi brand that I wear regularly. I also have several nude tops from Uniqlo (I bought them years ago. It’s not a brand I go to anymore, but I must admit they age well.)
Headband
One of the simplest and most versatile underwear? The flesh headband! Totally invisible under clear or transparent tops, the bandeau is also super useful for asymmetrical tops, tank tops with very thin straps or strapless dresses! I have a model from Chantelle that has followed me for years without getting damaged (a great investment). Their entire Soft Stretch range is great for invisibility under clothing, with that second-skin feel that I love!
The bra
Are you more of a crop top than a headband? Once once more, Chantelle offers a top model that provides support and comfort! Skims also offers a selection of bras with even more shapes and colors, to really approach all skin tones. I have several Skims pieces and I’m really happy with them (I haven’t been able to find such a satisfactory offer from more eco-friendly brands).
The pasties
To be comfortable under some slightly transparent tops when I don’t want to wear a top or a bra, I regularly use either these Etam nipple covers or those from H&M. If you don’t like silicone, they also exist in fabric. It’s really super practical and, contrary to what one might think, it’s not uncomfortable to wear, they are completely forgotten.
What to wear under a white or transparent dress/skirt?
Before discovering the bottoms of dresses and skirtsit had happened to me on several occasions not to buy a skirt or a dress only because I found it a bit too transparent and that I didn’t feel comfortable in it because of it. When I discovered dress bottoms and it was a revolution!
I have a simple and effective nude underdress that’s perfect to wear under a slightly sheer dress. Personally I like it even more bottoms of skirts (it’s often at the lower body level that transparency bothers me the most on a dress) and I bought mine at Monoprix years ago (it looks like a very thin elasticated skin-colored skirt in microfiber) . I wear it under dresses like skirts to make them a bit more opaque when needed. Obviously, in the middle of summer, it adds thickness and therefore keeps it warmer but nothing dramatic ????
I also have these short Chantelle shorts (in black and beige) that I wear regularly under dresses or skirts. The material is so light that it is completely forgotten and it does not roll, which is great! It’s also a great ally when you want to ride a bike in a dress / skirt in complete comfort ????
What to wear under white pants?
In spring and summer I wear a lot of white and light pants or shorts which require me to make the right choice of underwear. My best ally is flesh colored thong which avoids any demarcation or visibility. Personally, I wear this kind of very simple model from Skims or this Chantelle Soft Strecth model that I have in several colors. Basics! You can also try red panties or thongs: under the white, they are invisible!
