According to the latest research by Counterpoint, specializing in market statistics, Apple dominated the smartphone market in 2022, with four of the ten best-selling models. The iPhone 13 topped the list as the best seller, followed by the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Samsung also appeared on the list with two models: the Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy A03. However, Apple occupied eight of the ten positions with the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 12, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models also among the best sellers.
The iPhone SE 2022, Apple’s most affordable model, was also well received by consumers and appeared in the top ten list. The launch of the iPhone 14 was another highlight of the year for Apple, with the model making the list shortly following launch.

In Brazil, Samsung led the smartphone market in 2022 with a 42.5% share, according to data from the StatCounter consultancy. Motorola was in second place, with 20.17% share, followed by Apple with 17.91%. Xiaomi also showed significant growth in the Brazilian market, reaching a 13.01% share.
While Samsung continued to dominate the Brazilian market, Apple still managed to stand out as one of the best selling brands in the country, showing a preference of Brazilian consumers for well-known and high quality brands. Motorola has also maintained its position as a popular brand in Brazil, offering cost-effective smartphones.
In addition, LG still appeared in the list of the five best sellers in Brazil, despite having left the smartphone market globally. This data reflects the preference of Brazilian consumers for smartphones from established brands, with the best known brands still leading the market.
