PARIS (Archyde.com) – Sales of the Renault brand rose around 9% in the first quarter thanks to numerous new vehicle launches, the carmaker said on Monday, the first signs of a rebound following four consecutive years of falling group sales. to the diamond.
Volume sales of the Renault brand – which accounts for two-thirds of group sales, the other third being provided by Dacia – increased by 8.6% over the first three months of the year to 353,545 units, cars and vans, following -9.4% in 2022.
Last year, the loss of the Russian market following the invasion of Ukraine came on top of the impact of Managing Director Luca de Meo’s strategy of refocusing on the most profitable markets and models in an attempt to recover Renault’s financial situation.
This was the fourth consecutive year of falling sales for the group (-5.9%) and for the Renault brand.
During a press conference call, the general manager of the Renault brand Fabrice Cambolive said he expected the rebound in the first quarter to be confirmed in April, especially since “the level of the portfolio does not drop”.
Renault will publish all of the group’s sales in volume and value on Thursday.
