The new rules for driving and driving tests are coming. What will change with them for drivers? Eng. Emil Panchev – chairman of the Union of Motorists and Yonko Ivanov – chairman of the Union of Automotive Training Centers commented on the topic in “The Day Begins”.

Driving tests are one of the most important steps in the training of new drivers, but their results are not decisive for the behavior on the road, said Engineer Panchev.

“In order to have better safety on the road, we must follow the so-called traffic safety strategy – it begins to teach us from kindergarten, in the family, at school, and things are not very rosy there. We must we are far from thinking that only the driving course can teach us to be more polite on the road, not to drink alcohol, etc.”

Yonko Ivanov pointed out that since the beginning of the year, there have been 122 deaths on the road, and the statistics do not differ much from last year. He commented that all the innovations regarding line control and sanctions do not work, and that there are huge gaps in the organization of traffic.

Therefore, the Automotive Administration proposes to increase the requirements for the candidate drivers and instructors. “The exam changes in its theoretical part, there are some new clips that, if touched a little more, might be useful both in the training process and in the very situations in which the driver would find himself”, explained Ivanov.

According to him, this will bring many of the prospective drivers to the training halls to see first-hand how to handle the road, not to memorize leaflets. However, Ivanov pointed out that there are technical problems that will hinder the practical exam.

Routes will be randomly assigned, following which candidate drivers will receive commands from a tablet in the hands of the requester. If the Internet goes down, the exam is scheduled to continue, with the examiner providing guidance.
