The forecasts were not at all accurate in Allen where the candidate of the Radical Civic Union, Marcelo Román managed to prevail in the election for the mayor.

In Second place is former president Sabina Costa for the Juntos Somos Río Negro party, which, according to polls, was the favorite to win. The current mayor Liliana Martín who presented herself with Alianza Nos Une Río Negro is third.

The three candidates had Alberto Weretilneck on their lists as governor. However, the scenario that is being experienced in the city is completely unexpected.

The counting of the votes is very slow in the city and just a few minutes ago, 55% of the polling stations were exceeded.

After 10:00 p.m., the current president acknowledged defeat and greeted Román, who has been a city councilor for three years.
“Congratulations to Marcelo Román, he will be the new municipal mayor from 10/12. I thank each person who supported us, each prosecutor, all the members of the list, and each neighbor who voted for us”, expressed Martín.
“We have eight months left of a lot of work that we will fulfill with the greatest commitment. Thank you all,” she said.

On the other hand, in the UCR bunker everything is joy and euphoria. “Today we made history, the people of Allen said enough of the same, they got up and said we are going to change,” the councilor expressed emotionally.

The mayor thanked his family, fellow list members and UCR leaders. “This was all for the people. For three and a half years we have been sowing, listening, touring Allen, getting muddy with cold, trying to be next to the people”, he remarked.

The radical said that they are going to promote the neighborhood councils “that have asked us so much, but above all things we are going to listen to the neighbors.”
“I ask you to pray but not only for Román but for all of Allen, who is going to change. We are going to make everyone work, from the one who speaks to them, everyone is going to have to work”, he assured.

Several polls said that the former president Costa who had the blessing of Weretilneck would rule once more. However, as the hours passed and the data from the tables was shared, everything indicated a clear trend towards the UCR councilor.
