Next stop: Jerez
In two weeks, the long European season will start with the classics in Jerez, Le Mans, Mugello, the Sachsenring and Assen, before heading to Kazakhstan for the first time before the summer break.
In Jerez, KTM test rider Dani Pedrosa will be there with a wild card. Honda has also registered a wildcard for Stefan Bradl if he no longer has to represent Marc Marquez there. Enea Bastianini is also expected to return to Jerez.
For today we say goodbye to the ticker and wish you a good start into the new week.
Alex Marquez not injured
After the start, Jorge Martin crashed at Turn 2, taking down Alex Marquez as well. Marquez was trapped between the two bikes. However, X-ray examinations have shown no injury to the right knee. Martin didn’t get a penalty. The race stewards must have classified this as a normal racing incident.
More numbers on the historic victory
Alex Rins has ended Honda’s longest dry spell (24 races without a win). The last triumph was 539 days ago.
He is also the eighth rider to win with two brands in the modern MotoGP era (since 2002). The other seven drivers are: Jack Miller, Andrea Dovizioso, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, Maverick Viñales, Max Biaggi and Valentino Rossi.
Alex Rins: “I’m very happy!”
Alex Rins (LCR-Honda, 1.): “I tried to put pressure on ‘Pecco’. I was struggling a bit in the second and third sectors but in the changes of direction I attacked really hard to catch him. I’m really happy. I was able to do it here in Moto3, in Moto2, with Suzuki and with Honda. That makes me very happy. I’m really proud of my team.”

Luca Marini “Alex was impossible to beat”
Luca Marini (VR46-Ducati, 2.): “At the start I was cautious because I didn’t want to make a mistake. Jack passed me very aggressively. Fabio also got away very well. I knew my race pace was good here. I knew the win wasn’t lost yet. After the After Pecco’s fall, I felt that Alex was managing the race.”
“I wanted to overtake Fabio and catch up with Alex. But Alex rides very well at this track. This year he rides the Honda, which is maybe the best bike here because it won a lot of races. It was impossible to beat him.”
“I’m very happy with my pace and my race. It’s a good result for our team and for my crew. They work very hard. I’m happy and satisfied with our work this year. It’s great to work with them .”

Fabio Quartararo: “A very tough race”
Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha, 3.): “It was a very tough race. I was struggling with top speed and acceleration. I had to fight hard in the first few laps because I knew that the podium is impossible if I lose positions at the beginning.”
“I’m very happy because the last races were very difficult. The team is working very hard. They’re trying to calm me down. It’s not easy. It feels good to be back in Parc Ferme. Hopefully more podiums will follow. “

MotoGP: ALEX RINS TRIUMPHS
A historic day for Alex Rins! He wins in his third race with Honda and for the second time following 2019 (with Suzuki) at this track.
For Honda it is the first victory since Marc Marquez last won at Misano in autumn 2021.
And for the LCR team it is the first triumph since Cal Crutchlow in Argentina 2018! It is the 100th podium place for the private team across all classes!
MotoGP: Final lap
For the final lap, Alex Rins is almost three seconds ahead!
MotoGP: Crash Bradl
At the end of the penultimate lap, Stefan Bradl falls in the third sector. That leaves just one Honda left in the running, and it’s leading!
MotoGP: Good times from Vinales
Just like yesterday, Vinales messed up the start once more. In the meantime he has worked his way up to fourth place and is driving a very good pace. More would have been possible if he had been up front in the early stages.
