The Vienna police were on site with sufficient forces and ensured that the meetings, which were attended by several hundred people, ran smoothly and that the event was held undisturbed. Here, too, police officers were able to prevent a collision by pushing them away, using physical strength and using pepper spray. Paramedics from the police carried out first aid for people affected by pepper spray, but refused further care by the rescue service. Six people were reported on suspicion of resisting state authority. At around 2:45 p.m., the final rally took place without further incident at Heldenplatz.

The Vienna police managed to prevent an escalation with the measures defined in the deployment plan. Public order and security were maintained and criminal acts once morest people or property were prevented.

Today’s soccer match between SK Rapid Wien and FK Austria Wien in the Allianz Stadium took place in front of around 26,200 spectators.

Before the game, 43 football fans were stopped and searched on a tram en route to the stadium. The officers secured gloves filled with sand and various items such as impact protection and dentures. These people were then forbidden from entering the security area and thus access to the stadium.

In the course of accompanying a fan march, the hearing of four police officers from the police service dog unit and two police service dogs were damaged by pyrotechnic objects. They might not continue their service and had to be treated in a hospital.

A pyrotechnic object was detonated in a toilet facility of the stadium, damaging the hearing of a 19-year-old football fan. In addition, there was property damage.

In both cases, the alleged perpetrators are not yet known, investigations are underway.

The outflow of football fans has so far been uneventful.
