Leipzig player Kevin Campbell suffered a minor panic attack, following scoring his first goal in the German Football League (Bundesliga) in three years.
This came when Campbell scored a goal for Leipzig in the match that ended with the team’s victory over Augsburg 3-2 on Saturday, in the twenty-eighth stage of the Bundesliga.
Campbell said in statements to the “MDR” radio station: I felt a bit of a panic because I mightn’t breathe. I tried to breathe, but I mightn’t. It was a shock.
Augsburg advanced in the fifth minute, then Campbell scored the equalizing goal for Leipzig in the tenth minute, at which point Campbell put his hand on his chest and bent at one of the billboards on the side of the field and asked for medical assistance.
Campbell explained that he was injured following a struggle with Augsburg defender Maximilian Bauer before scoring the goal.
Campbell said: I was shot in the back. It felt like my lungs had stopped, and he explained that the real problem at the time was that he was panicking because he mightn’t breathe.
The player recovered and quickly returned to the stadium to continue the match that saw his first Bundesliga goal since June 2020, when he scored once morest Fortuna Dusseldorf.
