Question from Sabrina
I am building a house, do I have to declare the property to taxes?
Hello Sabrina,
As you probably know, owners of real estate must declare them for taxes this year. For your personal case, namely a house currently under construction, the Taxes site is clear.
“Within 90 days of the completion of your construction, you must file your declaration from your secure personal space on impots.gouv.fr”, indicates the Public Finances website.
With the abolition of housing tax on main residences, the owner must now indicate the occupant of his built real estate. This information then allows the DGFiP to determine if it is the main residence of the occupant and to determine if the property should be taxed or not.
In 2023, all owner users will have to come and declare the occupancy situation of the premises they own. Subsequently, article 1418 of the CGI provides that “are exempted from this declaration the owners of the premises for which no change in the information transmitted has occurred since the last declaration”.
Good day,
Writing.
