Atiq and his brother were shot while being transported to a medical facility, and three individuals have been arrested in connection with the attack. Atiq and his brother were shot while being taken to Prayagraj Medical College for medical treatment. The former MP was killed within hours of his son Asad Ahmed’s last rites.

Sources said three men fired at Atiq and Ashraf. Atiq was shot dead when he came under the pretense of being a media worker. The assailants surrendered following firing. The police have arrested three assailants. The dead bodies of both have been kept in the medical college.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had assured that Atiq Ahmed’s gang would be eradicated. After this, Asad died in a massive operation which the Uttar Pradesh police had not conducted in recent times. On Friday, Atiq had sought permission from the magistrate to attend his son’s funeral.
