In the NHL, for the first time in the 21st century, a player became the best in all leading indicators

The Edmonton captain was fifth in NHL history to become the league’s all-time leading scorer, sniper and assistant in the same season. The last time Wayne Gretzky did it was in the 1986/87 season.

The regular season has ended in the NHL. Canadian Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid was the top scorer, sniper and assistant of the season.

On account of McDavid 153 (64 + 89) points in 82 matches. The award for the best sniper, “Maurice Richard Trophy”, he received for the first time in his career. The record holder for this indicator is the captain of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin (9).

The Art Ross Trophy, which is given to the top scorer of the regular season, is the fifth time McDavid has won at 26 in his career. The record here belongs to Wayne Gretzky (10).

In addition, McDavid became the third player in NHL history to top all three scoring metrics in the same season. Previously, Howie Morenz (1927/28, Montreal), Gordie Howe (1952/52, Detroit), Phil Esposito (1972/73, Boston) and Gretzky (1981/82, 1982/83, 1983/ 84, 1984/85, 1986/87, Edmonton).
