A collection of 14 cars will be auctioned next month and should reach the astronomical sum of 29 million euros!
The aurora car collection, consisting of 12 Ferraris and two Mercedes-Benzes, will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s in Italy on May 20. Stunningly, this collection had been hidden away in a garage for years in Sweden. Inheriting the sale, the auction house said it is likely “(…) from one of the finest car collections in the world”.
“With a selection of Ferraris and Mercedes-Benzes, the quality of each of these cars makes the Aurora collection special”. Among the vehicles that compose it, a Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, designed by Scaglietti, dated 1961, is particularly awaited. The same is true of a Ferrari 500 TR Spideralso by Scaglietti, dated 1956. The latter is valued between 4 and 4.5 million euros.
A procession of Ferraris, each more exceptional than the next
Other Ferrari models should reach we are huge. This is the case of a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider by Scaglietti, one of the 122 remaining models of this luxury car. Its sale is expected for an amount between 2.5 and 3 million euros. The same is true of the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 by Scaglietti, which should bring in between 2.7 and 3.2 million euros.
Among the other collectible Ferraris ready for sale, a stunning open-top 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS by Pininfarina should be a big hit. An elegant 1961 Pininfarina Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series II from Pininfarina is also preparing to be sold. The Aurora collection is not only made up of cars from the fifties, sixties and seventies. More contemporary classics will be offered for sale, such as an open-top 2019 Ferrari Monza SP1 and a Ferrari SA Aperta. The latter was built to commemorate Pininfarina’s 80th birthday.

Not all models in the Aurora collection will achieve auction records. A 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina is estimated between 250,000 and 320,000 euros. A 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello should sell for between 100,000 and 150,000 euros. And a 1986 Ferrari Testarossa might be acquired between 100,000 and 150,000 euros. Finally, a 2002 Ferrari 360 Spider only has an indicative price of between 75,000 and 125,000 euros.
Two exceptional Mercedes-Benz models will be auctioned. First of all, it is a magnificent 300 SL Gullwing, which should be the subject of a fierce fight between potential buyers. A great classic produced in 1955, the vehicle is adorned with a silver dress and is highly sought following by collectors. The second Mercedes-Benz is a 1956 300 SC Roadster, offered for a price of between six and ten million euros!
