* Only medical school in Tapachula to obtain this recognition from COMAEM

Tapachula, Chiapas; April 2022.- The accreditation plaque delivery ceremony was held before the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education (COMAEM) of the Soconusco University School of Medicine, in the city Theater.
With this accreditation, it places the institution with the highest quality standards in education at an international level, since the University began 25 years ago, with the objective of offering quality education, today we are pleased to be the only school in Tapachula, to have international accreditation, mentioned Sergio Cruz Agustín Maldonado, Rector of the University of Soconusco.
Since 2020, the school has joined the Mexican Association of Schools and Faculties of Medicine (AMFEM) and in 2021 the accreditation process began before the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education (COMAEM), reported Raúl Hernández. Today we formally celebrate the collaboration and training of many years throughout the history of the university, of all the people who have made timely and valuable contributions, this accreditation is not a point of arrival or a goal, on the contrary, a great commitment and enormous challenge, we acquire the enormous responsibility of improving every day, indicated Hernández Gutiérrez.
In the country there are 168 medical universities of which only 58 are internationally accredited, including the University of Soconusco, this leads us to have a great motivation to work and not only have this level, but reach more levels for the benefit of the society, which is the objective ended Agustín Maldonado.
The ceremony program was attended by Sergio Agustín Cruz Maldonado, rector of the University of Soconusco, Herminia González Córdoba, director of the university, Juan Guadalupe Hernández, executive technical secretary of COMAEM, Eunice de León Morales, general academic director of the university, Eduardo Medina Olivera , sir.
