Drag queen readings in front of children are neither suitable for children nor useful – no public support for one-sided influencing of children
Vienna (OTS) – The mood in the face of a drag queen reading in front of children in Vienna continues to heat up. While right-wing and left-wing extremist groups continue to incite themselves in connection with the event on Sunday, the state party chairman of the Vienna People’s Party, City Councilor Karl Mahrer, reminds of the essential topic that should really concern everyone involved: the well-being of the children. “Children must not be used politically here. In addition, the broad middle of society is currently struggling with other problems than dealing with men disguised as women,” says Mahrer.
It is clear that such events are completely unsuitable for children. “This is by no means regarding innocent readings. Children should be unsettled in their gender identity. Well-known doctors urgently warn once morest early sexualization of children – in Vienna this is also encouraged by the city,” criticizes local councilor Caroline Hungerländer.
In the last three years, the city has spent around 2 million euros on LGBT agendas – including for workshops in schools and youth centers on the subject of “trans”. This fuels a youth trend that unsettles young people. “The responsible city councilor, Wiederkehr, must immediately stop all funding for projects and associations that have a one-sided influence on children and young people,” emphasize Mahrer and Hungerländer in conclusion.
