Instagram announce A slew of new features for rival TikTok Reels today, including a new way to edit videos and find popular content.

The biggest change in the video editing process. Users will now be able to edit uploaded video, audio, stickers, and text layers on the same screen instead of doing it in separate steps. The screenshots shared by the company show a TikTok-like timeline editing feature, which helps organize audio and video clips and makes transitions smoother.

Instagram users will also have a new way to find popular videos. Easy-to-repeat trends and challenges are part of what has made TikTok a hotbed of viral content, and so far, there’s no quick way to tell what’s gaining traction on Reels. The new Reels page collects hashtags and songs that are trending on Instagram, along with some videos that use that specific sound. Users can then save the audio for later or apply it directly to their video.

An alternative to content monetization has been virtual tips from fans, TikTok, YouTube, and YouTube Instagram Everyone has a copy of this feature. A new update to the Gift Reels feature will show creators that fans have sent them gifts; They will then be able to confirm this by clicking on the heart icon.
