Marc Chagall sketch sold at auction in Moscow for $2.1 million

The auction “First Names” of the ARTInvestment project has ended in Moscow. He started On April 10, 32 lots were presented at the auction: 27 paintings, four works in mixed media and one lot of printed graphics. The total revenue amounted to 367 million rubles, the absolute record holder of trading became sketch of a large-scale work by Marc Chagall “Resurrection” (1948) – 177 million rubles. or regarding $ 2.15 million. The painting itself is located in the Georges Pompidou Center in France.

“Another five lots have overcome the price threshold of 10 million rubles. All other lots were also sold for more than 1 million rubles,” reports ARTInvestment.

  • The “head” of Varvara Stepanova, dated 1920, went for 59 million rubles;
  • “The Model” by Ilya Repin – 44.2 million rubles;
  • painting by Abram Arkhipov “Fishermen”, written in the late 1890s – early 1900s – 11.8 million rubles;
  • “Sailboat at sea” by Ivan Aivazovsky, dated the last quarter of the 19th century – 11.2 million rubles;
  • painting by Alexei Savrasov “The Yauza River near Elk Island”, created in 1871 – 10 million rubles.
