Today, Friday, English press reports spoke of Qatari Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani making a third and final offer to buy Manchester United, the English club.
And the “Sky Sports” network indicated that there was a competition between the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Islamic Bank, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, for the ownership of the English club.
According to the network, the Qatari party has always been supportive of the club and is willing to spend large sums to acquire Old Trafford, indicating that it will make a third and final offer to complete the deal.
In a related context, the Glazer family, which owns the English club, held meetings with the two parties wishing to buy United. Although the offers approached the £5 billion threshold, the parties did not reach a final agreement.
The American family, which has owned the club for 18 years, believes that the club’s current value is no less than 6 billion pounds sterling.
