Starting tomorrow, the city of Munich will issue a zonal driving ban for diesel vehicles in emission class Euro 4 on and within the Mittlerer Ring. For the Automobilclub Mobil in Deutschland eV it is clear: “This driving ban is disproportionate, antisocial and counterproductive,” complains the Automobilclub Mobil in Germany. Around 70,000 drivers from Munich and around 700,000 throughout Bavaria are affected. More than 300 people attended an information event last night. 40 of them, together with the automobile club, the CSU member of parliament Robert Brannekamper and Dr. Claus-Peter Martens, specialist lawyer for administrative law, to take legal action once morest the ban.
“The lawsuits are the only way to stop these nonsensical diesel driving bans in Munich. The immission values were all below the limit value in the last quarter, the trend is very positive, all values have improved by up to 50 percent in recent years: We see absolutely no reason to punish thousands of diesel drivers and to practically expropriate them. That’s pure ideology,” said Mobil-in-Germany President Dr. Michael Haberland. (awm)
