The former Minister of Culture reveals this Friday to be sick, and evokes the fight of Florent Pagny once morest his lung cancer.
“Yes, I wear a cap. Since I am sick”, it is with these words that Frédéric Mitterrand revealed, this Friday, to be suffering from an illness whose nature he did not specify. Invited on the set of CNews, the former Minister of Culture of Nicolas Sarkozy explained why he chose to put on this hat:
“I don’t want people to see that I’m sick, so I’m a little less sick when I have my cap on. But that’s not a sign of rudeness (…).”
The nephew of François Mitterrand, President of the Republic from 1981 to 1995, drew a parallel between his career and those of Florent Pagny and Arthur Sadoun, boss of Publicis, who are currently fighting cancer:
“I find Florent Pagny great. First as an artist, and I find it great that he says things, and places his fight as he does. I also find it great that the boss of Publicis said that we have to talk regarding it .”
“If we love life, we continue”
“I understand them very well and judge them in a very positive way,” he adds. “But me, in front of me, in front of my mirror, the chemo look, I don’t want it.”
The 75-year-old man, who published the book on Thursday Brad (XO), biography of Brad Pitt, explains that his illness started “three months ago”. And concludes: “Everyone knows it’s a very tough fight, but there is no other solution; it’s do or die. They tell me ‘You have a lot of courage’… no , I have no courage. What can we do? If we love life, we continue.”
