Football club “Tosno” following bankruptcy announced the revival of the club from next season, regarding this reported press service of the team in the official group on VKontakte.

Football club Tosno is back! With the support of the administration of the Tosnensky district and the municipality of the Tosnensky urban settlement and thanks to the interaction of the leadership of FC Tosno and the MKU SDC Atlant, agreements were reached according to which all youth teams, men’s and veterans’ teams will compete in all official competitions held under under the auspices of the Russian Football Union, under a single name, and also use the FC Tosno brand.

Next season, the winner of the Russian Cup-2017/18 will start playing in the championship of the Leningrad Region. “In the 2023 season, all our teams, without exception, will take part in the football championship, championship and Cup of the Leningrad Region. And the men’s team will additionally take part in the Cup of Regions, the championship and the Cup of the Northwestern Federal District,” the press service notes.

Tosno was founded in 2013. In the first season, the team played in the West zone of the Professional Football League (PFL), where it took first place and advanced to the Football National League (FNL).

In the 2014/15 season, Tosno took third place in the FNL, losing to Rostov in the play-offs for entry into the Russian Football Premier League (RFPL). Already in the next season, the club took the seventh place, and in the 2016/17 season it became the second and directly entered the Premier League. In the 2017/18 season, the Tosno club won the Russian Cup.

In December 2018, the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region acknowledged football club bankrupt. General sum the club’s debt exceeded 503 million rubles, including salary debts to football players and administrative staff – regarding 78 million rubles, for mandatory payments – regarding 49 million rubles.
