Rescue Continues as Numerous Fire Lines Remain in West Lijiang Mountain Fire in Yunnan – Hangzhou Net

There is an ongoing rescue operation for the Lijiang mountain wildfire in Yunnan, particularly on the west line where there are still multiple fire lines. According to a report from Hangzhou Net, the fire started on April 11 in Yulong County and has been spreading quickly due to the wind. As of noon on April 13, there were no open fires on the northeast line but the west line remains a concern. Forest firefighters and other local forces are using various tactics including fighting and burning to contain the fire. In addition, commanders and fighters are protecting Lashiluo Village using water pumps and humidification methods. The rescue efforts are still ongoing.

The CCTV news client reported that starting from the followingnoon of April 11, a wildfire in Yulong County, Lijiang, Yunnan, was burning and spreading rapidly with the help of wind. After emergency fighting by various local forces, as of noon on the 13th, there was no open fire on the northeast line of the fire scene, and the fire line was mainly concentrated in the west line.

From the evening of the 13th to the early morning of the 14th, there were still intermittent fire lines on the west line of the Lijiang fire scene. 95 forest firefighters in the southwest section relied on two artificially opened isolation zones to fight and block the fire by combining fighting and burning, and segmented cleaning tactics.

35 commanders and fighters were deployed on the western front of the fire site to protect Lashiluo Village at the foot of the mountain by erecting water pumps and humidifying the mountain, and at the same time waiting for an opportunity to fight the fire. 1,484 resident professional firefighting teams, armed police, militia, cadres and the masses were assigned to put out the fire, and 2 helicopters at the Southern Aviation Forest Guard General Station cooperated in the bucket operation.

Currently, rescue operations are still underway.
