INCO, Microsoft and LinkedIn launch a free course on ecological design and sustainability

There are 10,000 scholarships to train the workforce worldwide with a focus on a green economy with low carbon emissions

São Paulo, April 13th ‒ INCO Academy, Microsoft and LinkedIn announced the launch of the Green Digital Skills program, with the objective of training professionals to work in a greener economy worldwide. The program is geared towards improving people’s skills from a sustainable perspective. Divided into three modules, the course will cover fundamentals of sustainability in technology, its impacts on climate change, green design principles and practices, and how candidates can increase their chances of being hired for careers related to the environment.

The course is online and free and has 10 thousand vacancies for people from all over the world. The trails follow a learning methodology in which the student dictates his own pace of study, the self-paced learning. In addition to recorded classes, weekly live sessions will also be held to promote engagement among students. The program is available in 12 different languages, including Portuguese. To participate in the program, you just need to be over 16 years old. Entries can be made via the link.

The INCO Academy is an organization that provides training aimed at the knowledge, skills and habits needed for jobs and opportunities in the green economy. “With our new program, we want to empower people with greener, future-focused skills that will allow them to lead the development of a workforce that considers sustainability as a key factor. With such skills, people can be the catalyst for meaningful actions within their workplaces to achieve more sustainable operations and a smaller carbon footprint,” says Nicolas Hazard, founder and CEO of INCO.

The course was designed following a LinkedIn survey pointed out that there are more vacancies focused on the green economy than trained professionals. Faced with a scenario of economic uncertainty, training new talent with green digital skills becomes even more important, as the sector has available jobs and can absorb these professionals. According to Peggy Brannigan, Director of Global Environmental Sustainability at LinkedIn, mobilizing these professionals will be essential to advance climate goals globally and for technology to reach different sectors. “Programs like this foster the generation of talent and boost the development of green economies around the world,” said the executive.

According to Lucia Rodrigues, Philanthropy Leader at Microsoft Brazil, the climate crisis is the biggest challenge of our time, and we currently don’t have enough people with the digital skills needed for the green economy to meet the challenges the world faces. “The creation of training and education programs like this one are fundamental for a great evolution in the theme of environmental sustainability to occur. We know that we are on a journey to achieve a low-carbon economy and, in order to be successful, it is important to be clear regarding the fundamentals that will allow us to build a more sustainable future, where it will not be necessary to choose between producing and preserving”, she points out. .
