Mike Brown named Coach of the Year by the NBA Coaches Association

Everyone exulted in the Kings camp, then everyone remembered that this trophy was “just” a vote from the NBA coaches, not an official award. And then everyone also remembered that in general this trophy was often followed by another…

Last year Monty Williams was voted Coach of the Year by his peers… then Coach of the Year. Logic. This season it was therefore Mike Brown who won the timpani, and something tells us that this “award” will not be the last of the season either for the Kings coach.

Balance sheet of 48-34 with Sacramento, the Californian franchise which finished third and which will find the Playoffs for the first time since 2006? It would seem that MB’s file is one of the strongest. Adrian Wojnarowski also tells us that Joe Mazzulla (Boston), Tom Thibodeau (Knicks), Mark Daigneault (Thunder) and Mike Budenholzer (Bucks) were also mentioned more than average, but it is Sacto who gets the big prize and a first trophy, a few days before a series of Playoffs that smells of powder once morest the Warriors.

Whatever happens the season of the Kings and Mike Brown already seems successful, and his peers have therefore meant it to him by designating him coach of the year. But the real goal of Mike and his players is even bigger, it concerns the Golden State Warriors and starts Saturday night in Sacramento…
