7.5 billion dirhams of investments approved in 2022

The Unified Regional Investment Commission (CRUI) of the Fez-Meknes region has approved, for the year 2022, some 278 projects for a total investment of more than 7.5 billion DH.

This is what emerges from the ninth session of the Administrative Council (CA) of the Regional Investment Center (CRI) held, Wednesday at Fes, under the presidency of the wali, Essaïd Zniber. The past year was marked by the holding of 60 CRUI meetings during which 560 files were examined, with 396 files decided, which represents an increase of 36% compared to the year 2021, with an average time of instruction of 9.7 days. The 278 projects approved represent 70% of the projects examined. These investments carry a creation projection of 17,200 stable jobsi.e. 32% more than in 2021.

The CRI Fez-Meknes supported 1,625 entrepreneurs in 2022

Presenting the CRI’s 2022 report during the Board meeting, its CEO, Yassine Tazi, pointed out that the past year was marked by the launch of many strategic socio-economic development projects in the region, the improvement of the main investment indicators, as well as the launch of several business support programstestifying to the investment dynamics and of theentrepreneurshipas well as strengthening the competitiveness of the’territorial offers from Fes-Meknes region.

According to the CRI, in 2022, more than 1,625 project leaders were supported under the various programs deployed by the Center, in an integrated approach aimed at meeting the needs of companies, and this, during all stages of the life cycle. their projects (ideation, pre-financing support, training, incubation and sustainability assistance). “It is within this framework that the programs “Afwaj”, “Sayidtati Al Moukawila”, “Ofok Al Moukawil”, “The digital week” and “The mornings of entrepreneurship” were launched, in partnership with many public and private actors in order to respond to various issues and themes relating to entrepreneurship: female entrepreneurship, digital and e-commerce, access to financing, innovation, etc.,” explains the same source.

At the same time, in terms of economic impetus and territorial offer, the CRI indicates that it has contributed to the establishment of new regional incentive schemes, aimed at encouraging investment in the sectors ofindustry and of theoffshoring with high added value. “There prime d’installation in Fez-Shore thus completes the existing mechanisms at the regional level, namely the job bonus and the industrial sovereignty fund“, explains the Center.

The CRI also indicates that it has contributed to strategic planning, through the development of studies aimed at strengthening the attractiveness and economic development of the region. These concern the bank of sectoral projects, the study on the creation of new industrial areas et economic activity zones by 2030, the positioning and economic development strategy by 2035, as well as the study for improving the attractiveness of tourist investment in the Fez-Meknes destination, in partnership with SMIT (Moroccan Tourism Engineering Company).

In addition, during her speech, Yassine Tazi mentioned the priorities of the 2023-2025 Strategic Plan articulated around 5 axes, namely the promotion of productive investment, the support of promising sectors, the promotion and development of support and supervision systems for young project leaders, the facilitation of the act of investing and, finally, the professionalization of mediation and conciliation as a method of amicable settlement of disputes.
