Hydro announces that all malfunctions have been fixed in Ice breakdowns.

Hydro-Quebec has confirmed that all power outages caused by the ice storm that affected multiple regions of Quebec on April 5th have been repaired. According to a report released on Thursday morning, there were still some customers without power, but this was said to be due to unrelated incidents, not the freezing rain. At the height of the crisis, over 1.1 million Hydro-Québec customers were without electricity. Thousands of workers were dispatched to affected areas to restore power, with 40% of them working in Montreal alone.

Shortly following 6 a.m. Thursday, Hydro-Quebec reported that a few hundred of its customers had no power in Quebec. The public company’s media relations team leader, Maxence Huard-Lefebvre, said in an interview with the Réseau de l’information (RDI) that these outages were not attributable to the freezing rain in last week, but to other incidents.

Shortly before daybreak on Wednesday, there were 4,500 subscribers who still had no electricity in their homes, including more than 3,100 on the island of Montreal.

The ice storm gave Hydro-Québec a lot of trouble, because at the height of the crisis, more than 1.1 million of its customers were without electricity.

At the start of this week, some 1,500 workers were on the ground, 40% of them in Montreal, to restore power.

With the announcement that all power outages caused by the ice storm have finally been repaired, Quebec can breathe a sigh of relief. The tireless efforts of Hydro-Quebec’s workforce in restoring power to over 1.1 million customers have not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for their hard work. While there may still be some incidents causing outages, we can all be assured that Hydro-Quebec is doing everything possible to keep the lights on for everyone.
