North Korea – Missile firing (13.04.23)

France condemns in the strongest terms the launch on April 13 of a long-range ballistic missile, which represents a serious threat to regional stability and international security.

This new violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions prohibiting North Korea from carrying out any type of launch mobilizing ballistic technologies calls for a firm and united response from the international community.

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs will once once more assure the South Korean and Japanese authorities of France’s solidarity in the face of this new provocation during her trip to South Korea and Japan from April 14 to 18.

France urges North Korea to comply without delay with its obligations and to embark on a process of complete, verifiable and irreversible abandonment of its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. It is fully mobilized with its European and international partners, with the aim of ensuring the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions.
