Redfall: Exclusive not having 60 FPS support on Xbox Series X|S at launch

Redfall, Microsoft’s upcoming exclusive, will not support 60 FPS performance mode on Xbox Series X|S at launch next month.

The mode will be added in a future update, according to information shared on the game’s official Twitter account.

At launch, the Xbox versions will have quality mode only, with the Xbox Series X running the title at 4K and 30 FPS, while the Xbox Series S will offer 1440p and 30 FPS.

Several players expressed their dissatisfaction with the decision, considering it unacceptable to have a new generation console and not be able to run the exclusive in 60 FPS mode.

Redfall is an open-world first-person shooter that can be played solo or with four players in cooperative mode. It will let players take on legions of vampires on Redfall Island in Massachusetts.

At launch, even if the player chooses to experience the title alone, it will be necessary to be constantly connected to the internet. Arkane Studios recently confirmed that they are looking into the possibility of removing this requirement for solo players.

The game was supposed to be released in 2022, but Microsoft decided to delay it by a year. Now, Redfall will be released in may 2nd for Xbox and PC consoles.

Recently, reports suggested that the PlayStation 5 version of Redfall had been canceled by Microsoft following its acquisition of Bethesda. A company spokesperson came forward and clarified that this was false.
