After the unsuccessful call in March, the blocks of the Frente de Todos, Unidad Federal and Juntos por el Cambio agreed to meet once more in the Senate. The session will take place tomorrow, Thursday.almost five months following the last debate in the chamber at the venue.
The novelty of this meeting is that in the halls of Congress it is rumored that it will be chaired by the Vice President of the Nation, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
Today at noon a Parliamentary Labor meeting was held. There the heads of the interblocks met to try to advance in the organization of the agenda, which includes the Zero Alcohol law.
This bill, which has been half approved by Deputies since the end of last year, was the Gordian knot that was blocking the possibility of meeting, since Together for Change is mostly once morest the measure.
The session request of the bulk of the opposition excluded this initiative, but hours later a group of six radical senators rose up and made their own call for this Thursdayincorporating into the agenda the law that prohibits the presence of alcohol in the blood while driving vehicles, which exposed the counterpoint in the opposition coalition.
Adding the radicals, the ruling party has a sufficient number to approve the projectso it was not difficult to convince the heads of the opposition blocs.
The ruling party is in a column in favor of the project, but there will be leaks on the part of the senators of San Juan and Mendoza, with the exception of the vice president of the Frente de Todos interblock, Anabel Fernández Sagasti.
It’s regarding provinces whose income depends heavily on the wine-growing activity and there is fear that a law of these characteristics will reduce the consumption of this type of product.
