“I am very happy regarding the contract extension with my heart club. You can see how the club deals with the issue of women’s football and supports it. It makes me all the prouder to be able to follow the new path we have taken for the next two years,” says Stephanie Schneeberger.
The versatile and two-footed winger started her footballing career in Burgenland at SV Schattendorf. Via Wiener Neustadt she came to FC Südburgenland, for whom she made her debut in the Bundesliga in March 2016 at the age of just 15. After three years at SKV Altenmarkt, she switched to what was then SG Austria Wien/USC Landhaus in the 2019 summer break.
Despite three serious knee injuries, the 20-time junior international has played 42 Bundesliga and cup games for Austria Wien to date. At the age of 23, Schneeberger is already one of the more experienced players in the Veilchen squad.
Lisa Makas, athletic director: “Stefanie not only plays an important role in the team on and off the field. She has been here for a long time, knows the club and is an important part of it. We believe that there is still a lot of potential in terms of sport , and we look forward to continuing to have them with us.”
