Freilassing: the car crashes into an ambulance – several injured

There were several injuries in a traffic accident in Freilassing late Tuesday evening. A car collided with an ambulance at an intersection.

The crew of the emergency doctor’s vehicle was coming from the Freilassing hospital at around 8:15 p.m. on Vinzentiusstrasse in the direction of Münchener Strasse. The emergency vehicle was not on duty at the time and was therefore not on the road with blue lights and subsequent tone signals.

At the same time, a 67-year-old woman from Freilassing was driving her Citroen Cactus on Schulstrasse in the direction of Vinzentiusstrasse. At the crossroads there, she wanted to turn left onto Vinzentiusstrasse. She overlooked the emergency vehicle that had the right of way. The collision then occurred in the area of the intersection, despite an attempt to avoid the vehicle.

The woman who caused the accident and the crew of the emergency vehicle suffered minor injuries in the collision and were taken to a nearby hospital by the emergency services.

Both vehicles were totaled. The total damage is estimated to be in the mid five-digit range. The two vehicles were towed away by a local towing company.
