Vatican: Researchers have discovered a hidden Bible passage believed to have been written more than 1,500 years ago. Parts of the Gospel of Matthew have been found. According to scholars, chapters 11 to 12 contain more detail than the current gospels. The new discovery was made using ultraviolet rays in the Vatican Library. This passage was found in a manuscript of Christian stories and hymns.
The manuscript is in Old Syriac. Although the researchers have not explained the complete translation of this, some parts have been shared. The initial text of the found manuscript is estimated to have been written in the 3rd century. The author who corrected the manuscript deleted it and added new ones. This is the usual way of writing on paper made from animal skins. Researchers have released translated portions of the Greek version of Matthew chapter 12. Gregory Kessel, the researcher who discovered this passage, responded that the current discovery is different from the Gospel passage we know. The currently discovered manuscript has been re-used twice. The research was carried out by observing that the erased letters caught ultraviolet rays and illuminated.

The Syriac Church is believed to have officially translated the Gospel passages in the 5th century. Currently, only two manuscripts are known to contain Syriac translations of the Gospels. This is changing with new discoveries. It is also noteworthy that the new discovery comes amid announcements that the oldest known Bible manuscript will be auctioned in May.
