This has not escaped anyone since the health crisis and the war in Ukraine has not helped: the prices of products in stores are constantly rising. However, it is the opposite effect that has been happening for a year in terms of foodstuffs. Prices are constantly falling and are currently 20.5% lower than last year.
However, this is not noticeable on the receipt. Precisely, Test-Achats recently communicated that the shopping cart was 20.6% more expensive compared to March 2022. This is explained firstly by a gap between the evolution of prices as a foodstuff and as a as a product in a store. But above all, we must take into account the many costs that occur between these two moments: energy, labor, transport, etc. It is not yet possible to establish precisely when the difference will be felt in the consumer’s wallet, but the trend seems to be heading towards lower prices.
