WhatsApp releases option to use the same account on up to 4 cell phones in beta version

One of the most awaited features of WhatsApp is the ability to use the same application account on multiple cell phones. This function began testing in 2022 and now it has finally been released to users of the beta version of WhatsApp under the name of Companion Mode, allowing an account to be used on up to 4 cell phones at the same time.

As reported by the WABetaInfo portal, Companion Mode is available in the beta version 2.23.8.2 of the app. With it, you can use virtually all WhatsApp functions on up to 4 cell phones with just one account, as long as they all have the same version of the application installed.

The method to link WhatsApp to another cell phone is the same as that used to connect it to the computer. It’s very simple:

  1. Open WhatsApp on your secondary cell phone;
  2. Tap the 3-dot menu in the upper right corner on the login screen;
  3. Tap “Connect device” and a QR code will be displayed;
  4. Open WhatsApp on your main mobile phone;
  5. Tap the top right menu and then “Connected devices”;
  6. Tap Connect a device;
  7. Scan the QR code of the secondary device with the main cell phone.

Once this is done, your conversations will be synchronized between the two cell phones. The application can be used on both even if the main one is not connected to the internet.

It is worth mentioning that the feature is only available for WhatsApp users on Android. There is still no forecast for the arrival of Companion Mode on iOS.
