Excitement in Haslach: Indian family deported

An application for asylum was also rejected. Now the woman and her two children have been taken into custody. There was a certain excitement regarding the deportation in Haslach on Tuesday. Many citizens of the community had previously fought for the whereregardings of the three Indians. As early as 5 a.m., police officers are said to have arrested the 40-year-old Indian woman and her two children.

Mayor Dominik Reisinger (SPÖ) cannot believe that such well-integrated people are being deported. “After all, the sacristan was in Haslach and a cook in a local inn. On the part of the social welfare association, there would have been a fixed job promise that she might have worked in the nursing home in Haslach.”

The 21-year-old daughter also trained in geriatric care. “It’s a shame that people who have become part of the population are deported,” he says. “It’s becoming increasingly difficult to explain the asylum issue to people. We are deporting people we urgently need. On the other hand, offenders who come from countries without a deportation agreement can stay here. Nobody understands that anymore. You would have to look following the cases more individually and work with more common sense.”

Well integrated family

According to the mayor, not only the wife and daughter were well integrated: the 15-year-old son attended secondary school and played in the football club in Haslach. The three are to be deported to India this week. There, however, they would be persecuted because of their Christian faith.

You will try everything, but there shouldn’t be much hope. It is also unlikely that the family might get a red-white-red card because of their shortage of jobs. Once deported, they are no longer allowed to enter the country for a year and a half.
