Received a copy of the diary with the autographs of Tales of Kieu from Harvard University

The representative of Harvard University (USA) returned to Ha Tinh to visit and give a copy of the diary of a soldier of the Vietnam People’s Army with autographs on Tales of Kieu to Nguyen Du relic.

On the followingnoon of April 11, the Management Board of Nguyen Du relic site (address in Tien Dien town, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province) said the above information.

A copy of the autographed diary on Tales of Kieu was presented by a Harvard University delegation led by Dr. Anthony James Saich.

Mr. Anthony James Saich is currently Professor of International Relations, Director of the Asian Studies Foundation at the Center for Governance, Kennedy School of Government and Public Policy (HKS), Harvard University, Project Manager. “Undiscovered Vietnam War Legacy”.

The delegation visited the relic site, the exhibition space of documents and artifacts related to the great poet Nguyen Du and presented a copy of the diary. This is a document and memorabilia that was searched during the implementation of the project “Undiscovered Vietnam War Heritage”.

A copy of this diary containing 95 pages (30x20cm size) was seized by the US military in Tay Ninh in March 1967. In the diary, there is a page written and commented on by soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Mr. Le Ngoc Chau, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ha Tinh province thanked the delegation for giving a copy of the diary to the Management Board of Nguyen Du relic site.

Mr. Chau shared, this is a very precious memento and will be kept, displayed and introduced to visitors and researched by the Management Board of Nguyen Du Relic Site.
