National fiction returned in a big way on the screen of eltrece. From the first scenes, the second season of Argentina, Land of Love and Revenge made it clear thatIt is a great production with an excellent recreation of the 70s and 80s. However, the most successful was the way in which stories that traverse the collective memory were presented,

As rarely on television in our country, love between a homosexual couple has a central role. The protagonists are the journalist Antonio Salvat (Toni Gelabert), who returns to Argentina at the beginning of democracy following going into exile in Spain, and Segundo (Tato Quattordio), the son of a military doctor. Their romance is cut short not only because of how time and distance affected them, but also the antagonistic ways that their families have to stand up (and intervene) in the face of the situation.

ATAV 2 makes a perfect portrait of Argentina that was just coming out of its darkest years. And it shows the whole picture. You can see the actions of the civic-military dictatorship and the consequences of state terrorism: torture in clandestine detention centers, the disappearance of people and the theft of babies. And in that sense, the interpretation of Virginia Lago as a Mother of the Plaza de Mayo who fights to recover her daughter (Julieta Díaz) gains value.

There is also criticism of various elements that began to be slowly eradicated from society: such as macho humor -perfectly represented by Darío Barassi in the role of a revue theater star and Andrea Rincón as a leading star- and the prohibitions that were imposed on women. In addition, many of the current problems that arise: such as gender violence.

In that sense, Another reflection of society -and not only of the 80s- is the role played by Justina Bustos. She plays Anita, a woman who has to take care of raising her child alone and in whose work they denigrate her until her anguish overwhelms her. However, she begins to dream of a future in show business despite how she judges her alien gaze.

On the other hand, and perhaps above everything listed, The great value of ATAV 2 is to put great Argentine actors back on prime time on television.
